Olympic gold medallist Dame Katherine Grainger has been announced as ambassador for Aberdeen Youth Games, an initiative organised by Robert Gordon University's Sport and Exercise Science team and Sport Aberdeen, in which over 1500 pupils will participate in a number of activities and take part in a final Commonwealth Games themed sports festival in May.

Glasgow born Grainger commented 'The Aberdeen Youth Games is an excellent project which will introduce a wide range of sports to hundreds of children across the city and encourage them to lead healthy, active lifestyles'.
